Three Programmes for Adults Who Want to Think More Carefully
Each programme is built around reading, conversation, and the specific concerns of adults in their middle decades. Choose the one that fits where you are.
← Back to HomeHow Our Programmes Work
Every Cham Capital programme follows the same foundational method: we select texts carefully, we keep groups small, and we let the questions that participants bring shape the discussion. The facilitator is not a lecturer. The material is not a sales deck. The aim is understanding — not urgency.
Mid-Career Money Stories
A four-session reading-and-discussion programme that draws on short essays and case studies about adults who have revisited their household financial habits in their forties and fifties. The facilitator opens each session with one story, and the discussion is shaped by the questions participants bring.
The aim is not to prescribe but to widen the imagination — to consider that there are several considered paths through middle-age finance, not one. Materials are provided in a bound volume.
Key benefits
- Bound volume of readings and discussion notes
- Small group setting — questions welcomed throughout
- No financial product discussions or recommendations
- Case studies drawn from real adult situations
Programme structure
- 1 Session one: Introducing the household money story — where habits come from
- 2 Session two: Case study — a family at the mid-point, revisiting assumptions
- 3 Session three: The role of timing — when decisions become possible
- 4 Session four: Paths forward — several considered approaches, not one
Saving for the Two-Generation Household
A weekend workshop on the financial considerations of households that support both parents and children at the same time — a circumstance familiar in many Thai families at 40+. The facilitator walks through frameworks for thinking about the timing of savings, the role of insurance, and the patient conversations these arrangements often invite.
Participants leave with a personal worksheet and a printed reflection guide for use at home — not a plan imposed from outside, but a structure for thinking their own situation through.
Key benefits
- Personal worksheet completed during the workshop
- Printed reflection guide to take home
- Framework for savings timing specific to multi-generation households
- Thai context — examples and structures relevant to local life
Workshop structure
- 1 Saturday morning: Mapping the two-generation household — who, what, when
- 2 Saturday afternoon: Savings timing frameworks — how to think about sequencing
- 3 Sunday morning: The role of insurance — protection, not prediction
- 4 Sunday afternoon: Personal worksheet session and reflection guide introduction
A Long Reading on Retirement
A six-week reading programme on the literature of retirement — drawing on classic and contemporary writing about leaving full-time work, redesigning one's days, and the financial accompaniment to those choices. The facilitator selects readings appropriate to the Thai context and provides a printed companion volume.
Sessions meet weekly; discussion is gentle and unhurried. The programme produces a personal written reflection that participants keep — a record of where their thinking arrived after six weeks of careful consideration.
Key benefits
- Printed companion volume of selected readings
- Personal written reflection produced over the programme
- Six weekly sessions — enough time to sit with ideas
- Thai-context readings alongside international perspectives
Programme structure (6 weekly sessions)
- 1 What does retirement mean? — reading and opening discussion
- 2 The financial shape of retirement — time, income, and the unknown
- 3 Leaving work — identity, purpose, and the first years
- 4 The Thai retirement context — what is different here
- 5 Relationships and money in later life — practical and personal
- 6 Reflection session — personal writing and programme close
